Stargazing Moab is pleased to host you, family, and friends for an entertaining evening of stargazing and astronomy within the beautiful Colorado Plateau. The estimated sky quality (SQM) of this location is 21.16. If you're looking to escape the heat of the day, our stargazing experiences are the perfect evening activity.

 

Starting with a short walk through a scale model of our solar system, you will be familiarized with our neighboring planets as astronomical twilight begins to set. Upon arrival at the site, our experienced and knowledgeable astronomers and will take you on a journey through the night sky. Learn to find north and the location of our seasonal triangles, constellations and planets. Using high-powered laser pointers, we will provide you an entertaining and scholastic experience, with stories about ancient civilizations, Greek mythology, and the evolution of the Cosmos. 

 

Using multiple state-of-the-art telescopes (Celestron and Unistellar), see in detail the spiral arms of galaxies and bright colors in nebulae. View the rings of Saturn or the moons of Jupiter. Find beauty in the craters and faces of the moon. Telescopes are slewed throughout the evening to provide an extensive array of observational objects.

 

We regularly view the following types and classes of objects: Galaxies, Nebulae, Star Clusters, Double and Binary Stars, Planets, Earth’s Moon, Globular Clusters, Comets, and more. Depending on timing, the International Space Station (ISS) and Starlink trains can be seen passing overhead.
